The cybercrime group D4rk4rmy claimed the hack of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer (SBM). The company is Monaco’s premier luxury hospitality group, established in 1863. It operates iconic properties like the Casino de Monte-Carlo and Hôtel de Paris, playing a key role in shaping Monaco’s global image of elegance and exclusivity. Serving elite clientele, SBM spans gaming, hotels, fine dining, and entertainment. The Monegasque government holds a majority stake in the company.

The attackers allege the theft of sensitive client data and internal corporate records, posing serious threats to the brand’s global reputation, guest privacy, and business continuity.

As cybercriminals increasingly target high-profile industries, this incident serves as a stark reminder: even the most exclusive establishments are not immune. The potential fallout could reverberate across partnerships, customer trust, and the very identity that defines Monaco’s luxury sector.

D4rk4rmy is a hacking group primarily known for ransomware attacks and data breaches observed in 2025. The group has targeted companies across various sectors, including logistics, technology, and hospitality. They frequently publish stolen data on leak sites to extort victims. Operating as a Ransomware-as-a-Service (RaaS), they offer hacking-for-hire services while claiming to avoid targeting hospitals and critical infrastructure. Open-source intelligence links D4rk4rmy to active communities on forums, Telegram, and Discord, with suspected origins in white/grey hat circles that evolved into criminal activity. While some claims may lack evidence of original malware, recent operations demonstrate real exfiltration and threats.
