Energy One is a global supplier of software products and services to wholesale energy, environmental and carbon trading markets.
“On Friday, 18 August 2023, Energy One Limited established that certain corporate systems in Australia and the United Kingdom had been affected by a cyber-attack.” reads the announcement published by the company.
The foftware firm immediately launched an investigation into the incident and also notified the Australian Cyber Security Centre and relevant UK authorities.
In response to the attack, the company has disabled some links between its corporate and customer-facing systems.
The company has yet to determine the initial attack vector or the identity of the attackers. It is also unclear if threat actors had access to customer data due to the attack.
“Energy One will continue to provide updated information as it gains greater clarity about the incident and the likely timeframe for its resolution.” concludes the annoucement.
