conference RSA, and it ended up being the last big tech trade show before
COVID-19 wiped the schedule of in-person events. Not one event on the
agenda was about remote work.
So much would change so fast. Even for an industry that has boomed over
the past decade, 2020 was an unprecedented year.
“Business and security leaders are being challenged to change the way
they approach cybersecurity,” Gartner said in a market report on the
industry’s “urgency” to respond to COVID-19. Already a $134.6 billion
industry, cybersecurity is now pegged to grow 10% per year, even in the
